Pelvic Health

Pelvic Floor muscles are like any other muscle that, at times, need training to remain in peak working condition.

Even though our pelvic floor is hidden from view, it can be consciously controlled and trained, much like our arm, leg or abdominal muscles.

Having strong pelvic floor muscles gives us control over the bladder and bowel. Weakened pelvic floor muscles mean the internal organs are not fully supported and you may have difficulty controlling the release of urine, feces or flatus (wind).

Common conditions we treat for men and women:

  • Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence (cancer, prostatitis)
  • Incontinence (Urge, Stress, Mixed, Voiding Dysfunction)
  • Fecal Incontinence (IBS, Constipation)
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
  • Post Natal Incontinence
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Pelvic Floor Weakness

By having a licensed therapist, evaluate and treat the cause of the pelvic floor dysfunction together we can create a program which meets your individual needs and goals.

Pelvic Fitness (may include)

  • Pelvic floor exercises and stretches
  • Biofeedback which helps people learn how to stop using the wrong muscles and start using the correct ones.
  • Behavior, diet and lifestyle recommendations
  • Positioning and functional movement training
  • Myofascial release
